This session will explore the concept of net-zero portfolio construction across asset classes. Panelists will provide perspectives on how public and private equity and fixed income strategies can be aligned to achieve net-zero goals. They will also explore the role of Scope 3 emissions and the impact of investing in climate solutions as part of a comprehensive net-zero portfolio strategy. The conversation will focus on solutions that can provide the risk-adjusted returns and capital protection endowments need, while also having a meaningful impact on the real economy and supporting an equitable transition to a low-carbon future.

Some key takeaways from this session:
  • The biggest hurdle is making the (public, or even internal) commitment to a Net Zero portfolio - there are options for investing already out there once you do make that commitment
  • Investors have to do strong analysis around the carbon footprint of investments just like any other investment factor - it may be a challenge, but it will get easier with better reporting/data availability… but you have to do it whether it’s easy or not.
  • Net Zero can sound like a negative thing, but it’s really about looking forward - is your portfolio ready for the future?
